The Lappe & Area Local Services Board is eligible to apply for funding through the Rural Economic Development Program. It’s a great opportunity as its rare for an LSB to be eligible for any type of funding. The Board of Directors have decided to apply in the Planning Stage only, for funding in the possible development of a Recreational “Hub” in our Area. This recreational area has multiple possibilities for use, which will be decided in the future, if we secure funding through this program.
We require the support of our community to apply for this Grant, in the way of a signature from our residents. All we need at this point is support that “yes, I feel a Community Recreation Area would benefit our community’” . If we are approved, the LSB will move forward in the planning stage – searching for land placement, clearing, prep, etc.
I will remind everyone again, its planning stage ONLY, and we hope to get community support to investigate (with financial help from the RED grant) the possibility of creating and building a Recreation Area for the community to use – this could include skating/hockey rink, soccer field, baseball diamond, playground, etc. – all which will be decided at a later date.
If you agree and want to support our idea of betterment, can you please sign the attached letter and return it to me at the LSB office by September 15, 2018. lappeservicesboard@tbaytel.net
And, of course, if you have any questions, please contact me at 807 768-4350, at the LSB office.
Thank you.

To Whom It May Concern:
This letter is in support of the Lappe & Area Local Services Board of 2032A Kam Current Road, Gorham Ontario in a Community Improvement plan which includes the planning of a Community Recreation “Hub” area.
The Lappe & Area Local Services Board currently does not have a designated area for this family-oriented community to use. The implementation of such development would benefit the community. These include, but are not limited to health benefits for our children, promote fitness, team support, socialization for inclusion and diversity.
I verify I am a current permanent resident and/or own property in the Lappe & Area Local Services Board, am a Canadian citizen and over 18 years of age.
Thank you.
Respectively,
